We are so fortunate to have someone of Valerie’s experience level directing our community. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse and with a background in care management, health-care coordination and an extensive executive director resume, Valerie comes to us with a wealth of knowledge, ideas, and insight. This ability to improve the lives of our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Independent Living Residents is exactly what Oakmont Senior Living values in its community directors.
Prior to the community opening, Valerie carefully and thoughtfully chose each of our team members herself. “One of the things I looked forward to most in moving my career to Oakmont was the ability to hand pick the entire team from scratch,” she said. “During the construction phase, I was able to interview a large number of candidates and spend extra time selecting only the best.” We are so pleased that she did because we believe she has assembled the finest group of community ambassadors possible, from the caregivers and activity directors to the culinary professionals and community managers.
Valerie says she is extremely happy to be part of the Oakmont of Fresno family. “When I was first introduced to Oakmont I was impressed with the attention to detail that is put into everything they do, from the building to the events to the caliber of the team. Oakmont goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done perfectly.” And of course, her favorite part of the job is working alongside the seniors who have chosen to make their home at Oakmont of Fresno. “It sounds cliché, but the best part of my job is the residents. They bring joy to me each day, and I love creating a place that they can call home.”
And what a home it is! From the apartments to the activities to the dining program, Valerie loves providing such a high-quality lifestyle for our residents. “We have a phenomenal dining team that is experienced in fine dining. We also have the most energetic Activity Director! She pours her heart and soul into planning events and excursions that the residents will enjoy.”
Valerie believes that seniors deserve more than a comfortable place to retire, that they deserve a beautiful atmosphere surrounded by caring people and friends!
